DAVID

Growing up in North West NSW, I was immersed in the way of rural life from an early age. Raised on a sheep and cattle station, my connection to agriculture runs deep, instilled by the generations of farmers who came before me.

After completing my schooling, I embarked on a journey as a Jackaroo at Haddon Rig - Merino and Poll Merino Stud. Over three years, I delved into the intricacies of sheep and cattle management, gaining invaluable insights into the wool industry, breeding practices, and the nuances of genetics. It was during this time that my commitment to the agriculture industry solidified, fueled by a comprehensive understanding of its complexities and challenges.

Since my time at Haddon Rig, my path in agriculture has been rich and diverse. From fencing contracting to mobile cage dipping, from lamb marking contracting to overseeing sheep and cattle on properties, each experience has deepened my knowledge and broadened my perspective. These hands-on experiences have honed my skills and reinforced my dedication to the agricultural industry. Through it all, I have remained driven by a passion for my work and a profound sense of responsibility to finish every job the right way.

However, my journey in agriculture extends beyond the boundaries of my own experiences. I am fascinated by the stories of fellow farmers, each one offering unique insights and perspectives on the timeless craft of farming. I believe that there is always more to learn, and I am eager to gain wisdom from others, adding a comprehensive understanding of the diverse approaches and practices that shape our industry.

Together, with my wife Freya, founding DFN Rural Services is a testament to our shared values and commitment to building a brighter future, both professionally and personally. As we reflect upon our backgrounds and our life experiences so far, we hold an unwavering value to provide exceptional service rooted in integrity, reliability, and dedication to the well-being of our clients.

I look forward to the opportunity to support your farming endeavors.

FREYA

Our tale is a story of unexpected paths, diverse backgrounds and the magic of collaboration.

Originally from the North East of Scotland, my family have been deeply rooted in fishing for generations, navigating the waters of the North Sea and braving the elements to make a living. So, you can imagine my surprise when life led me to a farmer in Rural New South Wales!

It's funny how fate works. So here I am, embracing the very weather I once tried to escape.

Professionally, my background is in healthcare as a Registered Nurse. While my expertise may lie in a different field, I am excited to take on the role of managing the administrative side of our business, ensuring all runs smoothy, as well as the social media side of DFN.

Our small business thrives on the synergy of our different backgrounds. We're taking the best from our pasts and weaving them into new traditions for the future of our family. Our journey is all about growth, collaboration and learning. We are here to bring you the best service possible, drawing from our individual strengths to create a business that we are truly proud of.

Thank you so much for joining us on this adventure.

We can't wait to be a part of your farming story.
